Transitioning to civilian life
When I retired from the Army it was rough transitioning to civilian life. Retired December 2016 and started college January 2017. Started looking for work in 2018 while still in school.
Found out how hard it is getting hired straight out the military. One employer actually threw my resume on his desk and said, “20 years in the military means nothing to me. The only reason you’re here is because you’re studying Supply Chain. That’s valuable to me.”
Much love to the Crane Worldwide Logistics family and Venminder for giving a veteran a shot.
Funny, today you can’t fight off the job offers and opportunities knocking on the door on a weekly basis. Where was everyone back in 2018?
Not sure what changed but feels good to finally feel valuable in the civilian world. If you’re a veteran in transition keep swinging. Your day will come.

Stay cool.
